😱I BOOKED THE WORST HOTEL ON THE INTERNET // Large Family Travel Vlog // Jamerrill Stewart

– [Jamerrill] I think
I’m gonna call this vlog, mom books the worst hotel ever. – That sounds right. – And we still make the best of it. Good morning friends. It is day, oh what day are we? Let’s count the days of the week. I think today is day three. Yes, it’s day three of our gonna be, 11, 12 day road trip
running together here. And today is what I had
built in as a travel day. So you will see as these
travel vlogs come out that the way I’ve planned it is that we take a day of travel to get here and then yesterday we woke up
at our first big destination which was New York City and we did all the New York City things. So today is another travel day and then tomorrow we
will wake up and be fresh at our next big destination. Some locations we will
actually be doing things for like, two to three days. Other locations I’ve set
it up so that we’ll have a full day. For New York City we got
there the night before, had plenty of time to
get a good night’s sleep. We could wake up, we
spent the full day there, got back to the hotel that night, we slept until 8:30 this morning and now we’re gonna focus on traveling and then our next fun that awaits us. Oh, yeah I just jumped right in to showing you guys our room. That is our laundry bag. So when we get to our next destination I’m going to run a load of laundry there. The way that we have it set up, several of you have asked
how we’re doing hotels for this big trip. We’ve done two rooms. So in this room we have myself and Travis. We have Liam, Amelia,
Daniel and then Mr. Benjamin who’s around the corner there. We had two queen size beds and then a fold out couch. So Daniel and Liam slept here. Amelia, Benjamin and I slept in the middle and then Travis slept in the other bed. At home we have a king size bed and you know we just
can’t all fit in these queen size beds. We’ve also brought our
cooler along with us with lots of cold drinks. But this is the look of our room. So then in the second room is my mom, Jayden,
Zion, Naomi and Gabriel. And then obviously we’re getting together for activities and such. Some hotels could not
guarantee that they would be connected rooms. I don’t even think, yeah this room doesn’t
have the adjoining door. So they’re right across the hall from us. I’m going to call our next hotel today and see if they can make the rooms connect but if not that’s what’s
helpful about having a third adult on this trip is that the older kids can
share a room with my mom and they’re having lots
of fun dong that as well. This is not a style trip
where I wanted to do like, Airbnb for every destination. The main reason is
whenever you rent a house you have to go through and like,
clean it like a full house, and because we were only
gonna be like one full day in some locations I did not
also want the responsibility on my 20 year anniversary road trip of having to do full deep cleanings. We have picked up this room. They’re going to need to obviously change the beds and vacuum and I didn’t wanna do that on my trip. Other trips that are coming
up we’ll do the whole like, rent the cheap beach
house deal for the week and do it like we’re
actually living in a house while we’re traveling. So you can see we are a
little over six hours away from our next destination. I wanted to show you I’m
trying to use the most of this road trip time to
get my online work done. Woo, we are going over
some bumpy roads here. Anyway, this is a power
source that Travis got for me for my laptop for when we travel. There’s also some that he talked about that’s even more powerful that he would have to wire in to the van. This one is with this plug in outlet and then my laptop goes in the end here. So far, on our first day of heavy travel, it was about five and a half hours or so and I was able to work on
my laptop most of that time and my laptop was charged. I had no problems whatsoever. So this we just picked
up at Advance Auto Parts before we hit the road. So we are about four hours
or so from our destination. We are somewhere in the state of New York. We just stopped for gas and
now we found a McDonald’s and it’s one of those
McDonald’s that actually has the playground in it still. I know they’ve taken a lot of those out. So we’re gonna go in, stretch,
use the bathroom, play, get lunch and then get back on the road. Okay, friends we made it
to destination number two and I will say this hotel is a Jamerrill internet booking fail. The last one was okay, I’m
hoping our next one is great. This one I booked it because of course, hold on one second sweetie, of course I’m booking all the hotels and planning all the things. This one had some wording in its title that I assumed meant it was super close to the destination where we are now which you’ll see tomorrow. And it’s just, it’s so not good (laughs). I try to not complain, but I’m just being real with you here. The hotel is, how old would
you say this hotel is Travis? We don’t know. It’s 70s, it’s bad. It’s just real bad. We were joking it’s like a
crime scene filming location. So, we are gonna make the best of it we’re gonna be gone all day tomorrow. We’re gonna sleep here tonight, my mom checked it for bugs,
we’re clear, we think. Gonna stay here tonight, gonna
be gone all day tomorrow. Gonna sleep tomorrow night and
leave the following morning. This is just a lesson in, I will definitely check more thoroughly. All I saw was, close to
our location, indoor pool, laundry facilities. Yeah but, this one was a Jamerrill fail. But I’m gonna give you guys just like, a little brief tour. This part, again it’s
not the hotel’s fault. The hotel didn’t mean any harm. This is Jamerrill online booking errors. I mean, even you know, it’s okay. It’ll be okay. But for our big family
trip, you know, I’m glad that tomorrow is a day
that we’re not going to, see stuff like that, we’re not gonna be here all day tomorrow. Right mismatched boy
with socks on your head? – Be my laundry hat. – [Jamerrill] We are gonna
go run a load of laundry. The hall view. So here’s our doors. Liam knock. This is grandmother and
the other kid’s room. Going in the awesome elevator. My laundry helper. Okay. Yeah that’s always a good sign, right? So, the only elevator in the whole hotel. Hit five yeah. So that means this is a very
popular elevator to take. Amelia say, we’re back. – We’re back. – [Jamerrill] We’re back. – Hello. – [Jamerrill] Hello. Oh making faces, look at mommy. You’re gonna take these
quarters, let me show you. I’m gonna do the first one. Are you ready? – Yeah. – [Jamerrill] Okay, put
it in just like that. See how I did that? – Yeah. – So it’s about 10:30 at night and Amelia and I we moved
the laundry into the dryer. It actually smells really good. It looks like it washed well so we’re excited about
that aren’t we, sweetie? Here’s my big kids pile of clothes. Loosely folded, we’re gonna stick in a bag and drop off for them as part of their vacation laundry service. Well guys, we made it through the night in this interesting hotel
that mama booked online. And we made it through the night. The sun is shining, it’s a brand new day at our next destination. Again we will be gone all day today. We will come back and sleep tonight, and tomorrow we are off to our next stop. So thank you for watching some of my road trip bloopers with booking a very interesting hotel, and come back tomorrow
to see where we landed, what we do and what our next stop is. I’ll see you tomorrow
with a brand new video. Bye bye.

Oh! We are a large family of 9 and let me tell you Momma I have been there and done that lol hotels always seem to be so difficult to accommodate adjoining rooms and dont get me started on pictures let's just say online pictures are from 20 years ago… I have learned to check reviews on multiple sights too. We have learned to book directly from the hotel too and I even speak to the managers lol you can see I have seen it all haha 😉 but our last trip we stayed at the Hilton homewood suites and they were very accommodating and they had Amazing Rooms, hot Breakfast etc Thank God! I totally feel ya! Hope the rest of your trip is smooth sailing for you and your Beautiful Family! You all are in my Prayers ! Safe Travels ~ Mary

Silly question- do you have to wait for the laundry to run its cycle or can you sneak back to your room? I remember when I was 20 …did laundry …left it and when I came back it was all gone. New clothes to boot!

My parents did something similar when I was about 15 or 16 years old. Didn't get enough info about a hotel we had never been to and it had the psychedelic wall paper and all! What made it worse was we found out later that that evening that there were bugs! We joke about it now, but it was our worst vacation.

When booking you need to look between yelp and google to see where things are and others reviews. I work front desk at a hotel and I have run into people who have had these problems. I always tell people to never book through third party sites bc if something is wrong with your stay, the hotel can’t do anything for you other than purchase points for the hotel brand. Your best bet for a less expensive stay is to find a friend that works for a hotel and get a discount card from them.
The first hotel I worked at was built in 2000 and never had a renovation. I don’t understand why bc the hotel made good money bc it is close to shopping and is in one of the top places to visit in PA. Just the brand and management company didn’t want to put the money into it. We had regulars though who stayed again and again bc of the people who worked there.
When looking for bedbugs, look not only on the mattress but also along wall behind bed and along the carpet. I actually refuse to take anything into the room until I search it with a flashlight.

This reminds me of the time we went from Cumberland to Charleston. The distance is not that far but after fun in the sun we were too tired to travel all the way to Charleston. We did not book a room so my husband stopped because he was extremely tired. They were remodeling but when we got to the room my husband looked at me and said honey I swear I will leave tomorrow. We were just so tired. But I didn’t sleep and I prayed all night. The bed was broken I was appalled. I think it was a flophouse!!!

I have a funny hotel fail story too! A very long time ago now, my sweet husband, myself, our 65lb Labrador, and three little boys were traveling from Oregon to Illinois. Daddy is a very practical man, and he wanted to save as much money as he could for his young family. Bless the man, but he decided that booking a hotel room with only a king sized bed was going to be fine. We got to this very run down hotel, opened the door and the smell hit you right in the face! It was very late, we'd been on the road for about 9 hours and with 3 little ones and a dog, that felt more like 22! 😉 There was no way we were going to cancel and rebook another room at a different place by that point. So yes, like you all, we made the best of it! Luckily Tony and I are very short people and our boys were very little then. EVERYONE to include the doggy slept a very miserable night in that bed! lol Oh yeah, mamma was a booking the hotels from that time on! 😉

And old ketchup dried on the wall behind the night stand. I was NOT impressed. It only had an outdoor pool too which hubby failed to notice that it was outdoors and too cold to swim. Oh no! I did that to my family last year. 2500 mile road trip and I booked a hotel from the car, it was cheap and seemed ok for 1 night. Nope!! Broken windows, security doors that wouldn't lock, air conditioning units falling off the wall, oh and a dance club type sketchy establishment in the lobby. My hubby took one look at my panicked face (and how I couldn't take off my shoes or sit on the bed) and made the executive decision to stay somewhere else and just loose the money at the motel. I learned my lesson to read reviews/descriptions a little closer.

I am so grateful for your willingness to share your life with us on YouTube! I discovered you by googling "encouraging verses for moms" after having my son. Its so valuable as a younger mom to see real life examples of what it looks like to be a godly wife and parent. In person is best but when we were stationed 12 hrs from family in a rural area with my first child I was so grateful to have your videos to watch! I watch your videos mostly for hints of how to maintain a positive and content attitude in the day to day and what it looks like to truly view children as a blessing. Its encouraging to see someone a little further ahead who not only surviving but thriving through Christ's strength. I would love to see more videos about topics like marriage, discipline, and verses that encourage you as a mom but have already learned a lot through your daily life (even your perspective in your freezer cooking videos). God bless! Thanks again

Reminds me of job searching while pregnant with #7 and kidney issues. They were under new management and took out all of the appliances after the new photos were taken and the Internet was out. Their hot breakfast was downgraded to toast and cereal and they only had coffee to drink. But the really nasty part was when we found a used condom on the floor beside our bed and blood spattered all over the wall. I finally got access to the Internet and looked at it closer and they had lots of interestingly themed rooms which made us think it was in a different line of business!

While on our New York trip we stayed in Air BNB and I wish we hadn't because the buildings were soooo old and not kept up. Assuming hotels would have been better. Good to know thats not true. I think everything in NY is very old and not well kept up. -Em

I know the feeling… We always manage to find a hole in the wall hotel that charges too much on our road trips. Ends up turning into a joke AFTER the trip lol.

Oh I had an online booking fail in Atlanta. We just needed one night, me and my girlfriends, that was by the airport because we had an early morning flight. Oh my, oh my. By far the worst hotel we ever booked. We definitely didn't feel safe and the place was disgusting. We ended up spending the night at the airport. Super long night!

Just be glad you had a roof over your head when others have to sleep outside. I hope you teach your kids to be grateful for that and not complain so much. God bless ❤️

It looks like your at a comfort inn. But I’ve been there. I once rented a nice hotel and the room smelled like cat pee. I had a melt down.

Oh I feel you Mamma! I have booked some real "winners" for hotels/motels in my life. But only one time did I actually feel unsafe and kept driving! Recently I booked a motel, but on the way there I saw a photo online of it abandoned and boarded up! I was like, well surely the photos on their website are new remodeled photos and thankfully they were! One other lesson I learned, bring your own coffee mixture, Hotel coffee is just bad. 😂

Do you think possibly the hotel was kept to look like a retro design for nostalgic purpose. Being it was listed near Falls. Was it clean? We're the mattresses comfortable? And was the staff professional , kind and helpful? I hope you had a nice rest there. Sometimes our expectations keeps our minds thinking particular things are more than less. Then we are disappointed real fast. Thanks be to God you do have the opportunity to spend some nice time with your family. Travel is costly and challenging to families on tight budget. It can be very difficult due to budget. God bless you and your family.

Has to be Niagara Falls! We used to live there. It’s sadly a terrible tourist destination because it’s such a run down city. There are small areas they are trying to build up, but it has a long way to go. The Canadian side of the falls does it WAY better!

Lots of hotels near the Falls are hole in the wall hotels. They charge so much because of location. So sorry you experienced this. But the Falls was amazing right? We honeymooned there one night.

If you ever go to Niagara Falls again, the hotels on the Canada side are excellent, and they are much cheaper than the U.S. side. We stayed at the Marriott Fallsview for $70 a night, and the room was newly remodeled. They also had an outdoor space to watch the fireworks.

I should send you photos of the bad hotel we booked for our large family vacation last month. It was filthy. The smoke alarm went off. And there was an old eaten corn cob on the hallway. 😩😭

All hotels thru every travel websites are a total scam. All the photos are altered. There is always 75% positive posts and 25% 1-star posts. The only way to know is to have a trusted friend who you respect their taste to tell you they stayed there and it was great — or you stay there and know its good. Thats IT.

I always use Booking.com, I have found that they are very good at the descriptions of the hotels plus the pricing is great.
