7 Best Chicken Marinades (Freezer Ready Meal Prep!)


Hey there, Lacey here with “A Sweet Pea Chef.” And if you’re tired of eating boring, bland
chicken, trying to have this healthy lifestyle, today I have seven of the best chicken marinades
to share with you that’s gonna spice up your chicken game and leave you loving your meals. So, let’s get started. First, let’s make a Jerk Chicken Marinade. In a sealable Ziploc bag, add boneless, skinless
chicken breast, dried thyme, ground allspice, coconut sugar, sea salt, black pepper, garlic
powder, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, olive oil, and freshly-squeezed lime juice. Press the air out of the bag and seal tightly,
making sure to press the marinade around the chicken to coat completely. If you can’t get to using your marinated chicken
within two days, place it into the freezer and then thaw it whenever you’re ready to
cook it. That’s why I like using a freezer-safe Ziploc
bag, because it’s really easy to just transfer to the freezer. Next, we’re making a Cilantro Lime Chicken
Marinade. So in a sealable Ziploc bag, add boneless,
skinless chicken breast, ground cumin, sea salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chopped
fresh cilantro, olive oil, and freshly-squeezed lime juice. And press the air out of the bag and seal
tightly, making sure to press the marinade around the chicken to coat completely. For the best results, try to marinate your
chicken the night before you’re gonna cook it. That way you have the maximum amount of flavor. For a Honey Mustard Chicken Marinade, go ahead
and add boneless, skinless chicken breast to a Ziploc sealable bag, followed by raw
honey, whole-grain mustard, paprika, sea salt, black pepper, apple cider vinegar, garlic
powder, cayenne pepper, and olive oil. We’re gonna press the air out of the bag and
seal tightly. Make sure to press the marinade around the
chicken it coated completely. When you’re ready to cook the chicken, don’t
use the marinade as a sauce unless you fully cook it, because it’s gonna have raw chicken
juices in there. Now, we’re gonna make a Spicy Chipotle Chicken
Marinade. So add the chicken to a Ziploc sealable bag,
followed by adobo sauce, ground cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper,
freshly-squeezed lime juice, and olive oil. Press the air out of the bag and seal tightly,
and then press the marinade all around the chicken to get it nicely coated. To make a marinade, you just need a combination
of an acid, an oil, and some spices. Now, we’re doing a Tasty Honey-Garlic Marinade. Add the boneless, skinless chicken breast
to the bag, then the minced garlic, raw honey, low-sodium soy sauce, and olive oil. We’re gonna press the air out of the bag and
seal it tightly, and then press the marinade around the chicken to get it coated completely. Make sure to keep your raw, marinating meat
away from other foods in the fridge. I like to even put mine in a container, so
that if it does leak, the container will catch the juices. Next, we have a Lemon Pepper Chicken Marinade. So add the boneless, skinless chicken breast
to the Ziploc bag, followed by lemon zest, minced garlic, freshly-squeezed lemon juice,
crushed black peppercorns, sea salt, and olive oil. And we’re gonna seal the bag tightly, and
then press the marinade all around the chicken to coat. Another quick tip is to marinate your food
in the refrigerator, and not on the counter at room temperature to avoid food-borne illness
because we want the meat to stay cold. Now, let’s make a Fajita Chicken Marinade. To make this, add the boneless, skinless chicken
breast to a bag, then the freshly-squeezed lime juice, no-sugar-added pineapple juice,
low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes,
sea salt, black pepper, chopped fresh cilantro, and olive oil. And then we’re gonna seal the bag after pressing
all of the air out of it, and then press the marinade all around the chicken to coat. For my marinades, I use a one-quart sealable
Ziploc bag for anything less than about a pound. But any sealable container will work. So with these seven best chicken marinades,

    Totally making these, just all with tofu bc handling raw chicken (any meat, tbh!) freaks me out…so not quite vegan by choice (plus I’m way into fish & got no problems with handling raw fish). Just my weird stuff… these all sound SOOO delicious & will translate so simply to tofu, tempeh, etc. maybe even some fishy stuff. Thanks!

    im a college student and i can barely cook, i always eat boring chicken and i end up hating my life until i tried the honey garlic marinade and my life completely changed. i don't understand how I didn't think about marinating my chicken before jesussss.. i see the colors of the rainbow now ahahah

    Always do salty marinade not oily marinade. The oil does not attached to the chicken it’s 70% water. It won’t penetrate any flavor inside. Rub are always best. If you want liquid type. Allow the raw chicken juice be it’s own marinade.
