8 Ketogenic Diet Mistakes to Avoid (TO GET INTO KETOSIS FAST!)

Watch this video for eight common ketogenic diet mistakes.

new video. If you can’t figure out how to quickly get
into keto, stay to the end of this video and you’ll learn eight mistakes that will slow
your progress. Mistake number one: not eating enough fat
and eating too much protein. If you’re hungry on the site it’s mostly likely because you’re
not eating enough fat. Mistake number two: not tracking your macros.
You need about 75% fat, 20% protein, and 5% carbohydrates to stay full. I recommend an
app called Carb Manager, which helps you track these macros and it makes it very simple.
Mistake number three: forgetting about electrolytes. Due to the diuretic effect of the keto diet
you need to make sure you’re getting enough electrolytes, such as potassium, magnesium,
and sodium. Also, don’t forget to drink a lot of water throughout the day. Make sure
that you drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day.
Mistake number four: filling up on the wrong kinds of foods. Try to stick to whole foods
and stay away from artificial sweeteners, alcohol, soda, and vegetable oils. Comment
below if you’re guilty of this. Mistake number five: having a cheat day. Cheat
meals will spike your blood sugar, bring you out of ketosis, and make you feel horrible.
Then you’ll have to start all over. I don’t think you want to do that.
Mistake number six: obsessing over the scale. Your weight will fluctuate on this diet. I
don’t recommend weighing every single day or you’ll become very discouraged. I recommend
weighing once a week. Mistake number seven: too much stress and
not enough sleep. These two things can raise your cortisol, mess with your blood sugar,
and completely throw you out of ketosis. Mistake number eight: starting the keto diet
without any support. It’s really hard doing all the research on your own and also holding
yourself accountable. Find a friend or a keto coach to guide you.

    Coming from accelerator group, good info as I’m trying to do keto after thanksgiving, can’t figure how many protein and fat grams to eat, I guess under 50 grams of carbs I’ve read, just haven’t read about the others. Good video, right to the points!

    My boyfriend and I just started this a few days ago and we realized a little too late that the protein powder we were using actually had 15 g of carbs so we will definitely not be using that one any longer. Thanks so much for the tips!!
