I have said this for years. Our ancestors ate a lot of meat and it may have even lead to our brains getting bigger over our evolution. Vegans will deny this up and down but you can’t go against history and facts. They may have eaten vegetables and fruits too but mostly meat. They were def. not eating just vegetables and fruits.

I've been a carnivore for a year as of 1 February, and I naturally fast now without any problem for up to 5 days or more, usually a 48 or 72 easily

I miss being able to fast. Pregnancy and fasting do not mix and it’s been a big adjustment for me having to be in the kitchen so often.

I'm fixing to start an alternate day fast for 60 days. Plan to only eat ground beef and drink water and maybe buttery coffee. With all the videos I've been watching on carnivore, I'm interested to see the results.

about to break a 43 hr fast, its almost effortless on a heavily animal based diet. going 95% meat +eggs ,some liver and honey thats it. seeing how this will effect sleep. I can tell you personally if I eat upwards of 2.5 -3+ pounds of meat in a sitting you will get a gyclogen load from that meat and will be kicked out of ketosis temporarily. There is nothing wrong with being out of ketosis i believe that ancestrally we would have been in a catabolic/anabolic state fairly often due to food availability ….great video btw, keep it simple !

I have been OMaD and keto for about 12 months. Felt great. I am now 2 weeks into OMaD and carnivore…. OMG… I thought I felt great before. Now at 53 I feel as healthy and powerful as I did in my 20s and 30s. Constant energy levels, no hunger, great moods, mild healthy weight loss… Im convinced.

For those with a huge amount to weight to loose carnivore/meat based diet plus alternate day fasting will shred the body fat. Once you get fat adapted you won't even be hungry on the second day, just drink salted water and don't eat while burning tons of body fat. Can loose 5-10 pounds a week doing this, without starving, low inflammation, and tighten skin with the fasting.

MY EXPERIENCE: 6 months of strict carnivore nose to tail (beef, liver, eggs, heart, collagen) = I was rushed to hospital for intense heart palpitations and heart rate of 220 per minute – thought I was gonna die of a heart attack. And I was having all my electrolytes daily. So, from my experience, this diet is going to show over time that it is absolutely BS and people are going to start having health complications. BEWARE PEOPLE!!!

Question: I'm not diabetic, but since eating more carnivore coming from keto, I have elevated blood glucose all day. Never falls below 100. Morning is 115, postprandial is 130, then hovers around 105 all day. Should I be concerned?

Why bother with IF or OMAD on carnivore? We're not spiking insulin like carb eaters are when we eat.

Hello, I really enjoyed your video man! very good quality. I have a question tho, I started carnivore diet 5 days ago with intermittent fasting. I have been doing intermittent fasting for a very long time now, the only thing I changed is what I am eating. Ring now I am not feeling the best, I have weird bowl movement and sometimes I get dizzy. Is that because my body needs to adjust to the change or carnivore diet is not for me? I am eating fatty cuts and I do eat cheese sometimes. I would really appreciate the help!

Speaking from experience I agree with most of this, especially the marriage of Keto (you say Carnivore) & intermittent fasting, it works folks.
However I don’t think I heard you mention cholesterol?

So my advice would be to give this a go, sure, but please monitor ones cholesterol on this sort of diet, I would recommend regular blood testing, especially for those with a genetic disposition or family history of heart issues. I’d prefer to be alive and a bit overweight than skinny & dead.

If humans left the cave 6 times a day to get "small meals" we wouldn't be here.

Great video. One thing I don't often see is the subject of today's fruits and some veggies. They are ultra-bred today to be super sweet. Read a seed catalog sometime and see how often they mention "sweet" in the descriptions. Early man ate seasonally available fruits and veggies, and didn't gorge on overbred fruit-shaped sweets. Today's fruits especially are just sugar bombs-not 'healthy". and your body metabolizes it as SUGAR. Been on keto 3 years, lost fifty pound to goal in first 10 months, kept it ALL off, now trying strict carnivore cause I was basically there anyway….ANd I'm 64 years old so age is not a factor for success. Feel better than I EVER have and will NEVER go back to Standard American Diet (SAD)…

Trying to depend on will power to "diet" is like trying to use willpower to hold your breath under water for an hour. Your body will fight to overcome hunger spikes(or to breathe!!!!) Eliminating the insulin response on Keto or Carnivore ends insulin spikes..so no hunger pangs and no expectation that your body will be able to resist the urge to gorge on crap.

I tried carnivore for just a week to see how I felt. I didn't realize at first but my ibs was reduced. By two weeks I noticed I hadn't had a single migraine. A month later I'm down to one meal a day with dark leafy greens once or twice a month, because I seem to crave Brussels sprouts from time to time, and I feel incredible. No more hot flashes, emotional pms seems to be gone, I've lost 16 pounds, I've had zero migraines, my skin looks amazing, and I'm shocked, really. It's crazy how much better I feel.

Imagine being a Neanderthal, living in a land where it is mostly cold/winter, and try to survive only by eating vegetables lmao.

I think it just like in video games, each race having its special attributes, its kinda the same with us. For example Africans tolerate the sun more than Europeans because of the environment they were born.
So I think it is also the same with food and other stuff.

You are always going to have sugar or glucose in your blood even when you are in ‘ketosis’. You can prove this to yourself by checking your blood glucose using a test. The reason for this is gluconeogenesis. The split is about 80% glucose to 20% ketones. You will never have a situation where there is no glucose or sugar in your blood. Even when you fast your body makes sugar through gluconeogenesis. It’s important that you realise that you are NOT running on 100% ketones when on carnivore or when you are fasting. You will die if your blood sugar level is zero. Your body is shifting to make better use of the seasonal food available to you. Also, we never used to eat meat everyday because it was not so easy to get hold of as we do today. We had to hunt and forage everyday while today you can just step into a supermarket and get your meat. So fasting should be part of your weekly regime but don’t expect to be running on 100% ketones and no glucose. That’s not possible.

You seem like the guy to ask- started keto/if 2 years ago- dropped 90 pounds- stayed off. Experimenting along the way with things like the Daniel fast – extended fasts ( water only ) for 6 days so far everything is good then a month ago i say hey lets try the carnivore challenge for 30 days- 2 weeks in on my official start and i seem to be gaining weight. Any thoughts? Diet has consisted of beef, chicken, eggs, tuna, butter, lard, and some cheese- the only liquid has been water and black tea. ?????

We are the only species on earth that is so disconnected that we don't even know how to feed ourselves. Personally any history that nobody is alive to verify I don't even believe, anything and everything can be made up if there's nobody around to object to it. I'm not saying carnivore is wrong or right, nor am I saying being vegan is wrong or right, the only real way to figure it out is by trial and error since our instincts have completely disappeared.

Fasting with carnivore is magical, and are equally as important to me. I don’t understand why many carnivores don’t think it is ok to be hungry. Our bodies need to rest and it is ok to be hungry sometimes. Feasting is wonderful too. Coffee starts the circadian rhythm plus it is an addiction. I drink only water when I fast.

Look at Ben Bikman videos for protein intake while in low/zero carb state – it does nothing to insulin (if it spiked insulin your blood glucose would fall and put your body in a low hypoglycemic state, nature does not allow that 🙂 )

My Story. 2 Years ago I was at my biggest ever weight of 84kg. I lost without trying 20kg and have slowly put it back on again to 80kg. I looked into Keto and got so confused it fried my Brain. I asked friend who knows a lot about this ( He has lost 40kg) He told forget the Keto !! just eat Meat. I have naturally fasted most of my life. I only eat from around 3 pm to 10pm one meal and snack anyway. I love my Coffee as well. I thought about what he said and then it dawned on me…… I lost that 20kg when I was in a phase where I only felt like eating meat. that's when the light bulb went on for me. 20kg dripped from my body so I'm Proof that Carnivore ( which I'd never heard of before) suits my eating routine. I fast for an average of 19 hours without even thinking of food. I also realized that veggies have Carbs and Most Fruits have Sugars. I only Eat mainly Grass fed Beef a little dairy and Avocado is the only green fruit I eat. Trust me! I did it without even realizing I was doing it and I feel FABULOUS!
