Welcome to Panlasang Pinoy. How are you doing? I am Vanjo Merano. And for today, we will be cooking Instant Pot Pinoy Beef Caldereta. These are the ingredients that we will be using for this recipe. This is our beef. What we are using here is the bony part of it or the part that is also called as beef neck bones. We also need here potatoes. Red bell pepper. You can also use here green bell pepper or both green and red. This is the carrot. 1 can of diced tomato. We can also use riped tomatoes in here which we will just slice. This is our liver spread. Onion. Garlic. This is the soy sauce. Ground black pepper and Salt. Aside from these, we will also be using cooking oil and beef broth. Come on guys and let us now start cooking. What we first need to do is to set up our instant pot. We will just remove the lid of it. There you go. This pot has its own sound effects. And for now, since we will be sauteing, we need to press the saute functionality. There. And I will adjust it for it to heat up quickly. As you would see the number 30 in here, that just means that this would heat up for a maximum of 30 minutes only in the saute function. That is one of the safety features of this instant pot. It is because we might left the instant pot unattended accidentally. But after 30 minutes this would automatically turned off and we would not need to worry about it. If you would want to cook longer than 30 minutes, since you know it would took you so much time to saute, you could just turn it on again and another 30 minutes would be given to you. As we would notice, the word ‘on’ is now visible in its signage or in its monitor. That just means that, it is now starting to heat up. We will know later on that it is now heated up when we see the word ‘hot’ in its monitor. That just means that we can now start cooking. And now, we are ready to cook. We will just be heating up a cooking oil. We will just put a cooking oil in here. And what we will first do is to pan fry the potatoes and carrots. Now that our cooking oil is hot, we will now place the potatoes and carrots wherein we can put it together. We will just be pan frying it for about 3 to 5 minutes and this step is just optional. If you don’t want to pan fry the carrots and potatoes in your caldereta, you can add it later on when the beef has already become tender. I will just mix it for the ingredients to be equally cooked. So that the other parts of it will also be cooked. This is now ready. We will just remove it from our instant pot one at a time. We will be placing it in a bowl and set it aside first. What we will do with the vegetable is to place it back later on when the beef has now become tender. We will now be placing the onion. There. We will also now be placing the garlic which I have just crushed. You can also chopped it into smaller pieces if you prefer to. We will just continue to cook it until the onion completely softens. Our garlic and onion are now ready. It is now soft. That means, we can now place the beef. Beef neck bones is what I am using but you can also use regular beef in here. It is just at times, I want to use bony parts of beef here in my caldereta that is why this is what I am using now. We will now be adding “toyo” or soy sauce. And then we will also now be adding our canned diced tomato. You can also use in here a fully riped tomato which we just need to chopped into small pieces. I have emphasized the fully riped tomato, it is because, that would be the best tomato that we can use in here. And when we use a half-riped tomatoes, we would not achieve the consistency that we want in our dish. I will now be adding beef broth. We can use in here a beef broth, beef stock or it can only be water. But just a reminder that if you are going to use water in here, since it has no flavor, you need to add beef cube in here. After that, we will need to pressure cook it. When we will now change the functionality, just simply press the ‘cancel’ button which you can see in red. This means that our pot had turned off already. The next thing we will do is to put its lid back. This is the lid or cover of our multi cooker. We need to place it back so that we can use its pressure cooker functionality. Once you have heard that sound, that means this is now okay. We can now use its pressure cooker functionality. What we will do now is to pick what type of cooking we are going to do as you can see with the options in the buttons. Soup. Meat/Stew. Bean/Chili. Poultry. And since this is beef, we will press the ‘meat/stew’. And it will be automatically set into 35 minutes. We can adjust it by pressing the ‘adjust’ button. The timer would now be set into 45 minutes if you will be cooking plenty than regular and for a longer time. We can also adjust it back into normal which is in 35. It also has a setting into 20 minute timer for lesser quantity. We will now set it back to 35. You can also see the pressure in here. It could be on high or low pressure. And what we will be using now is the high pressure. This has plenty of options. What I would like to emphasize here is that, if you have been watching our past videos in which we are pressure cooking using a stove top pressure cooker, the regular one. I am saying that the cooking would be done between 25 to 30 minutes. The difference in this instant pot is its pressure. It is not that high compared to the stove top pressure cooker. The stove top has a 115 psi while this instant pot only have 110 to 111 psi in its pressure scale. What we will do now because of its lower pressure, we would extend the cooking time. Instead of 30 minutes it will now become 35 minutes. What we will do now is to wait and let the instant pot do the cooking. Since when the cooking is now complete, this would beep loudly that we will be alerted. And if we have missed it, this also has its own safety features. It means that, if the pressure cooking is done, it would be automatically set into warm mode. Don’t get afraid that it would continously heat up if we have forgotten about it. But of course, it would be a better thing if we are beside the dish we are cooking. This is the vent of the pressure cooker. And as you can notice, nothing is coming out of it at all. But for you to know that there is a pressure inside of it, I would be opening it quite a bit. There you go. That is the pressure inside of this pot. That is what usually comes out of the traditional pressure cooker. While we are cooking, the steam is coming out. But in here, everything is intact. We will just continue with the cooking and we will add the other ingredients after we have pressure cooked it. Our dish is now ready. We will just let the pressure to vent out. This is what I am just doing. I am just pushing the vent in this side towards me. We will just let the pressure to vent out and then we would open the lid after. We can now remove the lid since there is no pressure now. As you can see, it is still boiling since it is still hot. What we will do now is just to continue the cooking. I will set it back to saute mode since it is now on the keep warm mode. I will just turn it off it first. Then we will set in on saute mode for it to heat up since we are not yet done cooking. What we are doing now is just continue the cooking. Since it is now boiling again, we will now add the liver spread. After that, here is now our red bell pepper. What I will do in here is just continue the cooking. We will just let the sauce evaporates and let it reduce into half. At this instance, what I want is for the bell pepper to really taste in our dish that is why I have placed it earlier. The sauce of the beef has now reduced. That means, we can now place the pan fried potatoes and carrots. We will just be mixing it. After that, we will just cook it for about 5 minutes. At this moment, we are now ready. We will now add our salt and ground black pepper. This would serve as our seasoning. We will just season it and then mix it. After this, I will cook it for quite longer so that its sauce would thicken. And then we will transfer it on a serving plate, then we could now serve it. This is now our Instant Pot Pinoy Beef Caldereta. This is so easy to cook. We will now taste it. I have just get some of it and place it in this small bowl. It is still hot. We will now taste the beef. We have cooked this for 35 minutes in the pressure cooker. We will check how tender it has become. The beef has fallen off the bone already. Mmm~ This is so tender. I have remembered the “bulalo” in here. Because its texture is the same as well as its taste although we have not used beef shank in here but it is still delicious. I have really tasted the sauce that we have made in here. The tomato and the beef. Mmm~ This is really awesome. This would be great to be paired with rice. If you want a spicy caldereta, you can add chili pepper in here while we are cooking it so that the spicyness will sticks in the beef. Thank you so much for watching our videos.
