Welcome to Bachelors Cooking Poha Its a very famous breakfast in India Generally its cooked in every home & you’ll even find it every morning in the market too. But how much healthy Poha is? Its full of carbohydrate which gives energy But we can make it more healthy by adding vitamins & minerals in it If we’ll use vegetables then it will not only turn out as healthy but more tasty as well So, Let’s make Mix Veg Poha Let me share the ingredients we require to make this Here I have Flattened Rice, which I’ve soaked and strained out of water To add some crunch we’ll use Peanuts, Curry Leaves, Onions, Coriander Leaves Tomato, Green Peas, Sweet Corn, Potato or you can use whatever veggie like capsicum, Cauliflower So what we’ll make here that will be consist of all these. Let’s start making Mix Veg Poha Firstly we’ll take 1 tbsp Oil in the pan As soon the oil heat up, we’ll add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds in it Let it crackle Mustard seeds is crackling, now we’ll add 8-10 curry leaves ( tear them) It gives a nice flavour to poha To give some crunch and protein we’ll add peanuts We’ll lightly cook it as further it will be cooking as well It should taste like deep fried that’s why we have put it initially If you want you can deep fry and keep it aside and can add in the last Or else you can do it the way I have done Will expedite the further processing and will add onions 1 Finely chopped onion you can even slice it Don’t overcook the onion when cooking poha Instead cook it till its pink in colour In case you want to expedite the process of onions cooking then add some salt in it I am adding 1 pinch of salt so that onions will get cook faster. Colour of onions are changed Now we have to add those vegetables first which takes time to cook. In case you are using cauliflower or potato then add them initially Some vegetables get cooked very fast like: – Capsicum, Sweet Corn. Add them later on Firstly I am adding Chopped Potato. Let it cook all together Now we’ll add some peas in it We’ll keep some peas for garnishing, as they taste yummy with poha Now we’ll use dry spices :- Turmeric powder If you want to add flavour of Coriander Seed Powder, Garam Masala Powder & Red Chilli Powder. The kind of flavour you want you can add the spices accordingly. Now we’ll add 1 finely chopped tomato in it To retain the crunch of sweet corn, I am not adding it right now Tomato has its own juices and with its moisture potato will be cooked After mixing the tomatoes well We’ll cover it and let it cook on medium flame for 2-3 mins so that potatoes get cooked. We’ll cover it and let it cook on medium flame so that tomatoes release their juices Almost 2 mins has been passed, let’s uncover it We’ll press the potatoes to check whether they are cooked or not. As you can see potatoes are well cooked Now we’ll add sweet corn in it Don’t cook them much Now we’ll add salt in it Pinch of salt we have already added. Now we’ll add soaked & strained Flattened Rice (Poha) Mix it well Low the flame while mixing Else it will stick to the bottom of the pan Now we’ll cover it for 1/2 min, as the moisture of poha will generate steam With the steam flavour of all the vegetables will be incorporate in poha In case you feel your poha is dry then you can sprinkle some water over it Then cover it on low flame for 1/2 mins. After that your Mix Veg Poha will be ready. So almost 1/2 mins is passed & our poha is absolutely ready. Add some coriander leaves in it and then serve it What a colourful Poha So super healthy dish “Mix Veg Poha is ready” You must try this dish & don’t forget to subscribe out channel for such interesting recipes.
