So what does someone eat on a ketogenic diet
and how do you teach it?
So the method that I’ve learned
how to do it
is giving a handout of the
allowed foods, permitted foods,
foods that are very low in carbs meaning
they’re the lowest glycemic index vegetables,
fat has a glycemic index of zero,
it doesn’t raise the blood sugar.
So you eat as much as you want,
however I know you don’t want much
because the hunger goes down.
So that’s a little secret that
you’re not supposed to know,
that after a day or two
your hunger is gone.
It’s like I’m giving you a pill
to suppress the hunger, but I’m not.
So meat, poultry, seafood,
eggs, whole eggs…
The egg really is the perfect
nutritional package when you think of it.
It’s so complete you can make
an entire chicken out of an egg.
Well, you can’t make a cow
out of a steak, you know.
So two cups of salad greens,
one cup of non starchy vegetables,
you have to have vegetables every day
and then there’s some limited amounts
of cream cheese, mayonnaise, olives, avocado.
That’s what’s known as a very simple
method of teaching this.
